Welcome to
Message from the Chairman......
Welcome to the 2009-10 rugby season.
The new committee have been busy making sure every thing is in place for this season.
Many thanks must go out to the people, who have already sponsored matches and advertising boards. If
interested contact Steve Crook or Jim Froud.
A very special thankyou to Mr Roy Scruton, for sponsoring the first team shirts. With his logo “Warrior” on
the front of them, I am sure the players will live up to the name.
Our first game is at Barton on the 29th August, 3.00 kick off.
We are playing in Yorkshire Division 4 this season, after a shake up by the Rugby Union, this is great news
for the club. We have managed to attract some new players from other clubs, and hope to be able to run
three teams later in the season.
The club is continuing to subscribe to Sky Sports, this is a facility for all the members, the committee will
post on the website times of games that the clubhouse will be open. Don’t sit at home, come and join in the
banter!
The improvements to the Clubhouse should take place this year, after some delay with the administration.
The fixture cards are at the printers, and will be circulated to all members ASAP.
Rodney Robinson is actively looking for a speaker for a sportsman’s dinner, hopefully some time in
November.
We hope to have many more events through out the season, and must urge members to use the Hornsea
RUFC Website. Steve Crook and Paul Jebson have done a great job updating the website.
I would like to welcome all members to the club this season old and new.
And anyone interested in joining, come along have a beer and soak up some of the splendid atmosphere.
