HORNSEA SUFFER NARROW DEFEAT

Leeds Corinthians  15                Hornsea  12

Hornsea came away from Leeds Corinthians knowing that they lost a game they should have won with
some poor decision making and woeful finishing to blame.  It was Leeds who opened the scoring on the ten
minute mark through their right wing following some slick handling in the backs, the try was converted.
Hornsea hit back soon after this through a try by full back Martyn Pace, with Rich Hellstrom converting.
Hornsea took the lead after twenty five minutes through hooker Sam Clare following some strong forward
play by Danny Morris and Karl Forbes.  Leeds hit back in the dying minutes of the half with a try in the
corner following some clever interpassing in their back line.

Half Time        Leeds Corinthians  12                Hornsea  12

Hornsea were almost camped in the Corinthians twenty two for the whole of the second half but were
unable to cross the home sides line due to some resolute defence.  Sam Clare, Danny Morris and Jonty
Ashton all came close to scoring but were held up just short as the minutes ticked by.  On Leeds only
venture into the Hornsea half they came away with three points following Hornsea infringing at the ruck,
which proved to be the winning score.  Hornsea threw all they could in the final fifteen minutes at
Corinthians, but they failed to score, in what was a very disappointing defeat.  The Hollismen will hope to
bounce back next week when they entertain lowly Burley at home.
