Unlucky Hornsea loose out in difficult conditions.

On a very blustery afternoon Hornsea lost a competitive match against a strong Knaresborough side 11 -
3.

A game that Hornsea will want to forget saw them down to 13 men on the pitch due to injuries for the last
quarter of the game. Although Hornsea battled against the elements and playing half of the team out of
position they managed to keep the score to a respectable 8 point margin. It was from the boot of Richard
Hellstrom that they got there only points of the game from a penalty on 18 minutes. Captain Matt Havler
commented after the game, " We had a lot to deal with, not only did we travel without several key players
due to injury but during the game we lost 3 more to injury.  For large parts of the game we were on top and
with a full compliment of players we should have beaten them by a good 20 points.  Credit to the 13 guys
who stuck at it and kept Knaresborough out for the last 18 minutes, that shows true Hornsea grit. "
Hornsea entertain Garforth at the Hollis recreation ground next Saturday and will be looking to get there
season back on track with a vital win. Hornsea Coach Kim Baish commented, " I have a great set of lads
and the team has a real good feel to them. With 4 of my big guns returning next week from injury we'll be
going out to show we can do.  Training this week will be all about executing the game plan."
