HORNSEA 43 WETHERBY 5
Hornsea produced an impressive performance in their opening pre season friendly game to
comprehensively defeat a hard working Wetherby side by 43 points to 5. Although the game lacked some
structure at times there were plenty of positives to come out of the match and Hornsea captain Matt Havler
said, “ At times we played some really decent stuff, now it’s a case of ironing out some of the things that
went wrong, but on the whole it was a useful run out and I was pleased with the performance”. Hornsea’s
points came from debutant Danny Cook scoring two trys, with Nick Sunnick, Steve Crook, Andy
Winterbottom, Nick O’ Mahony and Sam Clare also crossing the try line, with Rich Hellstrom adding two
conversions and Rob Wells also adding two.
Hornsea travel to Adwick next week for the their second pre season game where they will hope to produce
another good performance to prepare for their opening league game at home to Stocksbridge on
September 8th.
