HORNSEA GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS
Hornsea 29 Leeds Corinthians 5
Hornsea got back to winning ways on Saturday with a comprehensive 29 points to 5 victory over Leeds
Corinthians, which saw them move up the league table two places to fifth. The Hollismen looked the better
of the two sides throughout the eighty minutes as they played an expansive game, which their opponents
were not able to cope with. Hornsea took the lead after ten minutes through a try for centre Danny Cook,
converted by Tom Copeland. Copeland added a penalty shortly after this to give Hornsea a ten point
lead. The Hollismen extended their lead after Cook registered his second try following some useful work
by the pack, who dominated their opposition all game. Playing against the wind in the second half,
Hornsea maintained the upper hand with deserved try for captain Matt Havler. Scrum half Chris Watkins
then got on the act with a try from the base of the ruck as the Hornsea pack had drove the ball into the
Corinthians twenty two, Copeland converted.
This all improved team performance will hopefully see the Hollismen gain some confidence as they look to
push away from the relegation zone and maintain their Yorkshire Four status.
