YORKSHIRE 4
HORNSEA DROP POINT
HORNSEA 15-15 GARFORTH
Playing at home on Saturday, 1st December saw the Hollismen record a draw in their halfway game of the
season.
Hornsea were first to show with some excellent approach work from the forwards and a slashing break from
fullback Clarke which was completed by Crook at centre.
The next 15 minutes were all Hornsea as ball was shovelled back from the pack but the visitor’s defence
held firm. Against the run of play, in the 15th minute, Garforth made the most of an error in defence and
gained a good score which they failed to improve.
Another Garforth try that resulted from hard running saw them turn round 5 points to 10 in front at oranges.
The dominance of the Hornsea pack was starting to tell upon their opposite numbers and the work of
Morris, Clare and McLatchie in the tight was taking the starch out of their opponents’ legs.
Hornsea got the scoreboard ticking over again with a Hellstrom penalty and a converted Clare try.
