Bramley Phoenix 45 Hornsea 12
Hornsea’s poor away form continued as they went down to a determined Bramley side by 45 points to 12.
Although missing four first team regulars, Hornsea were lacking ideas throughout the game and it was the
home side who took their chances, with Hornsea guilty of many missed tackles in midfield. Defeat for the
Hollismen saw them slip to seventh place in Yorkshire Division Four, and they now lie just four points
above the relegation zone. Hornsea’s two trys were scored by leading points scorer Martyn Pace and
number eight Rob Porter, with Rich Hellstrom converting Pace’s try.
Speaking shortly after the game Hornsea captain Steve Crook said, “ Our second half performance was
satisfactory but our first half was unacceptable, we made Bramley look like a very good side thanks to
some woeful tackling. It is back to the drawing board for us next week at training where we will concentrate
on the basics as we now have a very critical game next week at home to Northallerton”.
